I Already Have A Final Piece

From white photo frames I spray painted them gold to add a traditional effect to them and to make my images more professional.

I was told by my tutor that this was a final piece and already good enough to be placed in the exhibition. I still feel the need to develop further as I still have four more weeks until setting up the exhibition.

The Girl With The Pearl Earring

The Girl with the Pearl Earring - Johannes Vermeer

My first attempt to placed this painting on the Great Wall of China. I think this makes the painting more quirky and fun! This is defiantly one of my favorites.

My Photoshop recreation - The Girl with the Chinese Earring

When I was taking the photographs to recreate this painting I first told the model to use an umbrella to mix up the painting a little, however the painting just worked on it's own and in Photoshop I edited the umbrella to be red to stick with the Chinese theme. However the photograph without the umbrella worked the best as I think the model actually looks at bit like the original painting.

American Gothic

American Gothic - Grant Wood

I found my American Gothic recreation a real success as I used the Chinese and African tradition photographs I had taken for the Arnolfini Painting and placed them into this painting. This is one of my favorite pieces I had done along with the Arnolfini recreation and the next one I will show you the Girl With The Pearl Earring.

Sunflowers (Tournesols)

Sunflowers (Tournesols) - Vincent Van Gogh

My Photoshop edit is actually really bad! However from my origami pieces I did earlier in my project I chose one of the flowers I made and placed them in all the places the sunflowers are. It's arty fun but does not look professional of very presentable at all.

Mona Lisa

Mona Lisa - Leonardo Da Vinci

To stay to my Chinese tradition I placed the Mona Lisa in front of the Great Wall of China. This was not successful as I first thought it would be, as the landscape isn't a great effect for the painting itself.

I then took a photograph of a classmate in the Mona Lisa position and place her into the painting this worked really well! The colours and the model herself just work really well together.

The Scream

The Scream - Edvard Munch

This was just purely experimenting with paintings on Photoshop with the photographs I had taken earlier in the project, I chose this photograph as the colours of the outfit contrast well with the landscape of the painting. This piece is not one of my successful pieces however it still works well with the editing I have done on the painting.

The Last Supper

The Last Supper - Leonardo Da Vinci

By using Paths in Photoshop I am able to copy and paste, cut, insert, add anything I want to, to recreate the Last Supper into a new scene.

Here I have recreated the Last Supper into a modern way plus sticking to my theme I have added Chinese elements to the painting. I have added modern floral wallpaper with Chinese stained glass windows also in the windows behind Jesus and his disciples are landscapes I found of China including the one well known landmark, the Great Wall of China. To top of the Chinese traditions I added the animals from the Zodiac calender below the table.

Here I photographed my mother into each pose and edited them onto the painting to add more of a fun effect to the painting. I think this worked really well as it creates a different vibe when viewing this painting.
