Construction of my Final Piece

First measuring out the exact angle so the length of my piece will be 174 cm horizontal. Once I had the measurement sorted I then had to make wooden brackets so my piece would stay in place.
I stuck two pieces of wood together and drilled a screw into so it would be stable then screwed them into the boards so they would hold up into the room.

Experimenting with the Final Piece

I now experimented with my organza fabric to begin with to see how this would fall onto the wall.
I wanted this be like a base colour for the walls and I would experiment with more material to go on top.

My experiments of how I could drape the thicker material on top. I prefer the last two as they have a certain element to the flow, Once I get the angles right I will be able to pin this together to create a more professional wall.

I have tested the fabrics together and having two layers of organza would be better than just the one layer, as the one layer looked to clear so the two layers would bring out more colour as well as have the thicker material on top to make the colours stand out more.

Artist Research

Some more extra research on artists who recreate paintings

Jane Perkins - [Plastic Collection] uses objects that can be found around the house (example: buttons, beads, kitchen utensils etc...)

I tried my own version of the Arnolfini Portrait in the style of Jane Perkins. OK so I know its not the best piece of art work however this did take me 5 minutes as it was to show experimenting in my sketchbook whereas Jane Perkins could take up to 3 weeks to complete one recreation.

I then came across to artists that use Lego to recreate paintings.
Marco Sodano uses flat Lego to mimic the colours of the painting, you can still tell what painting he is trying to create however there is not much detail on it.
Marco Pece uses 3D Lego which brings out more detail and makes the piece more fun to view.

Starting my Final Piece

To finally start my official final piece I had to use the measurement I made and create the boards out of them, So I have two boards, one of them cut in half.

Recycled - I think this may of been someones work from years ago and they did not take it so it is being recycled and I have to paint the whole thing white so it is easy for me to create a backdrop.

First Coat...

Second Coat...

Third Coat...

Fourth Coat...

After 3/4 hours, the fourth coat still hasn't covered it all. The image makes it look like the boards of covered but they are not :( So I will leave this overnight and give it one more coat and then it should be finished.
