Experimenting With Origami

I hit a point where I just did not know what to do, how could I take my work further? So I sat there and started to fold paper and made a lotus flower which I used to make all the time when I was younger. I then thought I could use this in my work somehow so I researched on Yinka Shonibare again and his work looks like paper origami on the tables with the wax figures around it.  I gathered as many different coloured sugar and photocopy paper I could find around my college I decided to build more origami flowers.

Lotus Flower and Dahlia Flower (Beginner)

Lotus Blossom Flower and Lily Flower (Beginner/Intermediate)

Tulip Flower (Intermediate)

Traditional Fractal Rose and Traditional Hydrangea Flower (Beginner/Intermediate)

Kusudama Chrysanthemum (Intermediate)

These are some of the flowers I have attempted to fold. Now I will make several of each of these so I can make table decorations just like Yinka Shonibare however they will be symbolising the Chinese and African traditions.

Looks like I got others into the origami spirit. the first image is of a iris flower that college student made for me in attempt to make me feel dreadful about my own designs (not really it was a nice gesture) the other three are two that my tutor made just for the fun of it.
